As an inSIGHT participant, you can feel good about being a part of an all-volunteer organization that is dedicated to making our world a better place for students. Today’s students are challenged everyday with incidents of intolerance, bullying, and prejudice, in the school community. It is inSIGHT’s mission to help eliminate these negative forces by funding educational grants that assist teachers and students to face these realities.

InSIGHT has a busy schedule lined up for the season and all of you are welcome to join us and be a part of inSIGHT’s mission!

From a Centropa Film of the Week: “A Life Not Lived”
“Each time a person stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out
against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million
different centers of energy and daring, these ripples build a current that can sweep down the
mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.”
– Robert Kennedy

Brundibár
“Brundibár” was a children’s opera, written in 1938 by Czech composer Hans Krasa, performed 55 times between 1943 and 1944 in the concentration camp Theresienstadt in Czechoslaovakia. This camp was propagandized by the Nazis as a model ghetto. In 2011, inSIGHT partnered with the Kravis Center’s S*T*A*R* Series for Students, the Palm Beach Opera and Lynn University Conservatory to produce a performance of “Brundibár” for over 2000 middle school students and well as to the greater Palm Beach Community. Ela Weissberger, who played “Cat” in all fifty-five performances in Theresienstadt was there to speak to students and the audience about her experiences.

LIGHT – The Holocaust & Humanity Project
Full-length contemporary ballet and Holocaust education
partnership that promotes the protection of human rights
against bigotry and hate through arts, education, and public
dialogue.

inSIGHT collaborated with the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts to present “Light”, an exquisite original ballet by Stephen Mills of Ballet Austin.  It was performed in  2015 for two thousand students as well as to the community as a benefit concert for inSIGHT.

The Children of Willesden Lane
The Children of Willesden Lane is the best-selling book about
the power of music and how one teenage refugee, Lisa Jura,
held onto her dreams, survived the Holocaust and inspired
a generation of her contemporaries. Today’s worldwide
humanitarian crises and the importance of standing up against
bigotry and hatred, are reflected in the continued and growing
relevance of this book. The Children of Willesden Lane, written
and performed by Lisa Jura’s daughter, concert pianist and
storyteller Mona Golabek, has become an acclaimed one-woman show and soon to be a major motion picture.
